Walkers are Welcome UK Network is a nationwide initiative launched in 2007 to encourage towns and villages to be ‘welcoming to walkers’. The network has expanded rapidly and there are now over 100 locations across the UK that have joined this innovative community-led scheme to benefit from Walkers are Welcome accreditation.
Earlier this year, Aylsham started working towards this accreditation as their town is a hub for walking in Norfolk, with our very own Weavers’ Way and Marriott’s Way running straight through it. As part of this work, they are running a series of guided walks this summer which all are welcome to attend.
Aylsham Wildflower Walk – Saturday 21st June
History of Aylsham – Saturday 28th June
History of Aylsham (Inns and Taverns) – Saturday 26th July
History of Aylsham via the Marriott’s Way – Saturday 23rd August
For each walk there is a small charge of £2 per person, with all proceeds going towards the Aylsham Walkers are Welcome committee to further their work in promoting Aylsham as a wonderful place to come for excellent walking and cycling opportunities.
